Taco Tuesday: Oyamel
Oyamel has a fantastic happy hour menu: $5 for margaritas, wine or beer; $4 for fabulous ceviche, two tacos of several varieties, or chipotle meatballs. Unfortunately, the hours of said happiness (4:00-6:00PM) leave those of us who have to put in a normal workday anything but happy. If you happen to be let off at 4:00 on a particularly grueling day of Grand Jury service, however, you just might be in luck. We still at to fight a crowd by the time we made it over, but snagged a seat at the bar and settled in for the evening.
Cocktails: $$$ They definitely have some fun cocktail offerings- I particularly enjoyed the margaritas with salt foam. If you stay past 6:00PM, which you will, you will definitely cancel out the happy hour steals with your drink tab.
Food : $$ The guacamole, made table side to your taste, could not be fresher (although it will put you back $14). The white fish ceviche is fabulous, and a steal during happy hour… so much so that we went for seconds. The tacos are also tasty.

Atmosphere: Super crowded during happy hour– don’t expect to get a seat if you arrive after 4:30
Service: The bartender was busy but attentive.
