Monday Morning Marathon Meet-Up: Week 6
We had to shift things around this week to accommodate holiday travel, but overall we had a good week, running more than our scheduled milage. I also discovered that apparently I’ve been carb-loading the wrong way all these years. Turns out large quantities of beer and Pizza Bolis fuels your body just wonderfully.
Scheduled Milage: 21 miles
Actual Milage: 25 miles
Long Run Summary:
Pre-run dinner: 5 beers, a slice of sausage pizza, some cookie dough and chips.
Pre-run breakfast: Hot Banana Quinoa Breakfast Cake
Hours of sleep: 7
Start time: 10:30am
Weather: 40 and extremely windy — chilly run!
Route: Down the mall to the Lincoln, across the memorial bridge, down to the trail and past Roosevelt Island, across the Key bridge and onto the Canal Trail in Georgetown, past the Kennedy Center, back up the Mall and home.
How I felt: Great!
Highlight of run: Ran two miles more than we were scheduled!
Injuries, aches or pains: None
Post-run brunch: Nothing fancy– a bowl of lentil soup
