Got a New Look!
It’s a month for new looks… for me and the Messy Kitchen at least! The Messy Kitchen’s new look was well planned out and successfully executed. Mine? Not so much. It was a morning of first world problems: there was still a stain on my dress when I picked it up from the dry-cleaner, the spray tan machine malfunctioned, my iPhone led me to the wrong location… I figured I had it well out of my system by the time I got to the hairdresser. Not so much. You see, I’m not so good at telling people what I want when it comes to my hair, and some how I ended up with straight across bangs. Okay, I’m being a drama queen. It’s nothing that a hair straightener and a little hair spray can’t fix. In fact, I kind of like them after they settle down a bit. But really, I wake up with my head resembling a triangle and my bangs askew.
The good news is that ever since The Bowl Cut, there’s not much you can do to my hair that will phase me. I capitalize The Bowl Cut because it was more of a life episode than it was a haircut. Now for the sake of full transparency, I must admit that I wanted The Bowl Cut. In fact I was even excited by the result of The Bowl Cut. You see, it was the summer after forth grade and KK, my very best friend in the whole world, had recently gotten her butt-length hair cut just above her ears. She was getting all sorts of attention over her transformation, so it seemed like the cool thing to do. And it was… until it came time to change schools. Being the new girl in school is hard enough when people can tell you’re the new girl.
Back to the real point of this post. As you can see, the Messy Kitchen has a new look! It turned out beautifully, much thanks to the creative mind of my very talented friend Emilie. With very little direction, she managed to nail down a look that is very Jo, and I love it! Maybe she should cut my hair next time?
Both the blog and bangs look great 😉
